History
Gregg graduated from the University of Arizona in 1994, after a successful NCAA football career. A starting Inside Linebacker on the top 20 ranked 90’ and 91’ teams, Gregg went to 3 major bowl games (Copper, Aloha and Hancock). Following a career ending spinal injury, Gregg finished his final year as an assistant coach, working with linebackers and special teams.
Beginning in 1994, Gregg followed his love and passion for music, a move that would bring a new set of skills, creative savvy and career initiatives to the foreground. Coinciding with this change, he recognized his artistic proficiency in developing cutting edge web sites. Exploring diversity through technology, the year of 1996 found Gregg mastering digital engineering and production in music in the company of LA’s finest. In addition to nurturing a web development business, Gregg spent his extra time engineering, producing and co-writing two independent record releases, and continued to tour the country with his musical cohorts, affectionately known by music connoisseurs and ever-present fans as Floodnine. Drawing upon his musical aspirations, Gregg championed Floodnine as co-manager and guitar-aficionado throughout the band’s career and signed with MCA/Universal Records in 1998.
The Universal deal moved the group to Los Angeles, and put Gregg in the unique position of being a major label recording artist, as well as producing and engineering the first release with Grammy winning engineer Francis Buckley (Quincy Jones, Alanis Morrisette). When not working with the band, Gregg also worked with long time executive producer Spencer Proffer (Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, B.B. King) on online marketing/ website initiatives with some of the most significant names in the business, including CBS television, MTV networks and Artisan Entertainment. While with Universal, Gregg recorded a major label release, appeared on several MTV soundtracks, worked closely with the MCA marketing department developing web sites and online promotions for several other label projects, and worked as a session player for major movie soundtracks (Rockstar, Soul Survivors).
In 2002, Gregg saw the opportunity to capitalize on a business opportunity and left Los Angeles to start Galapagos Marketing, an interactive advertising/ web business based in Tucson, AZ. The agency set out to ride the wave of convergence in traditional advertising with new age marketing initiatives on the internet. Gregg has since spent over 5 years developing marketing, interactive and advertising for some of the most well known names in the business, as well as engineering and producing an additional major label music release along side Grammy winning producer Sylvia Massy.
